The phrase “phantom tires” and the like sort of alludes to a whole “phantom limb” situation where a person who has lost a body part swears that they can still feel the body part.
But having “phantom tires” is really laughable because no human would actually know what having tires feels like, and to someone who has felt the whole phantom limb thing...
